Improved working environment at recently acquired factory in China

In 2006, Danfoss acquired the Chinese company Qinbao.
In connection with the takeover, Danfoss carried out a working environment and safety audit which, when compared to Danfoss’ standards, revealed some discrepancies. For example, the employees had no personal protective equipment. Subsequently, the personal protective equipment has been purchased, but the employees have not yet become used to wearing it, especially gloves and glasses which can be inconvenient to wear when it is warm during summer. Since a high safety level is an indispensable requirement at Danfoss, a bonus system will be introduced which incorporates working environment matters, including the use of personal protective equipment.

Corporate Citizenship

Danfoss’ overall goal within Corporate Citizenship is "keeping our own house in order".
This applies to employees, so that they have an attractive workplace and a healthy work-ing environment. It applies to the environment, where Danfoss products contribute to energy savings, and where the environmental impact of their production is constantly being reduced.
And it applies, in a broad sense, to social and ethical responsibility.
Efforts are continually being intensified, because when employee satisfaction is high, consumption of resources is as low as possible, and the company’s ethics and reputation are good, the result is a positive effect on the accounting bottom line.
